About us
Behind the dyke of the river Lek, close to the historic town of Culemborg, you can find our guest house ‘De Appelgaard’ hidden between old orchards. A place where you don’t have to hurry and where you can enjoy nature: the beautiful landscape of the Betuwe and the river area.
This is a unique place that we have been happy to share with our guests for over 30 years.
The former farm with fruit and cows developed step by step into a delightful accommodation where many (loyal) guests have enjoyed a peaceful time. Our guest house consists of different accommodations. You can choose the idyllic cottage ‘Weltevree’, the fully equipped apartments ‘Gravenstein’ and ‘Brederode’ or an atmospheric farmhouse room.

Guest accommodations
You can choose from different guest accommodations such as the self-contained cottage ‘Weltevree’ or one of our guest rooms in the former cow shed. The latest addition are our completely renovated apartments ‘Gravenstein’ and ‘Brederode’, named after the ancient species of fruits in our orchard. The accommodations are suitable for two to four people. Outside you can enjoy a private terrace or the many sunny or shady spots in our orchard or the large common terrace.

Weekend with friends/family
De Appelgaard consists of a large number of accommodations. Therefore it makes an ideal location for a weekend with friends or family. Take your rest in your own guest room and enjoy the beautiful garden, a campfire, the attractive living room and a delicious breakfast together.
It is possible to book the entire guest house, consisting of the cottage ‘Weltevree’, the apartments ‘Brederode’ and ‘Gravenstein’ and the three farmhouse rooms. Therefore, we can accommodate groups up to seventeen people.
